For our first event, we are hosting a talk by Brian Moynihan and Michael Levy. How is digital health and emerging health technologies addressing current issues in public health today? How can students who are interested in digital health get involved at UNC or in the Triangle community?
Brian leads the Health Sciences Library’s Health IT Department and is the Director of the Carolina Digital Health Research Initiative (CaDHRI), providing consultations, workshops, connections, and devices to promote digital health research at UNC. A primary focus of his mission in this position is also building connections among the health innovators at UNC's health affairs schools - Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Dentistry, and Public Health - to catalyze progress in clinical care, research, teaching, and learning. He also serves as a connector between this area on campus and diverse outside groups, including other universities, thought leaders, large companies, startups.
Michael is an experienced healthcare administrator turned entrepreneur. Michael serves as the Entrepreneur In Residence at the UNC Center for Health Innovation, in this role he is leading the Center's Digital Health efforts. He is Co-Founder of a early stage digital health company that is focused on scaling talk therapy to the masses, as well as serving as an advisor to many others startups. He has previously held positions within 3 major AMC's (UCLA, UNC and UM) most recently serving as the Vice Chairman of Administration for the Department of Medicine at UM.
